Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Appears on Best Buy's Site

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 could be the iPad 2's toughest opponent > Now, Best Buy's tablet sector has a special page for the soon-to-be-released Samsung tablet.
Samsung's latest offering nearly matches the iPad 2 in design. The Samsung tablet slightly edges out its Apple opponent with a larger screen. Diagonally, the Galaxy Tab measures 10.1 inches with a 1280-by-800 Full HD display and the iPad 2 measures 9.5 inches with a 1024-by-768 display. According to the Best Buy page, the Tab weighs 1.25 pounds. Apple's site lists the iPad 2 as 1.33 pounds. Both feature front and rear cameras.
The Best Buy page lists two memory capacities for the Galaxy Tab 10.1: 16GB and 32GB. There is no SD card slot, which could give further credence to the idea that Samsung's tablet is a direct response to the iPad 2.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 was available for attendees at the Google I/O conference earlier this month. The limited edition version released at the conference sported Android 3.0, but Android product management director Hugo Barra said that it will have Android 3.1 Honeycomb when it's released. The Best Buy page lists Android 3.1 among many other specifications.
Earlier this year, PCMag got some hands-on time with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Barcelona. Samsung did not provide an estimated battery life, and it said, at the time, that there were not any plans for a U.S. version, including a Wi-Fi-only version. Fortunately, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is coming stateside, but Best Buy's page did not specify whether or not there will be a Wi-Fi only version, as the version that was provided to Google I/O attendees was.
PCMag's Lance Ulanoff spent some time with the Google I/O limited edition tablet and outlined why he doesn't think it is an iPad killer just yet.
For early adopters, Samsung has a special sign-up page for its latest offering. June 8 is the confirmed release date, and time will tell if the Galaxy Tab 10.1 can break Apple's stranglehold on the tablet market.
